Ernesto was born into a family of 21 children in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Angelina was born into a family of 6 in a small town, Longano, in the Abbruzzi region of Italy. They met in Philadelphia and married in 1970. Having both come from Italian families Ernesto and Angelina were driven to create something unique together; a place that represents the culture in which they came from, and something that could give them what they’ve never had; opportunity.
Ernesto apprenticed for a butcher as a young man and became a true artisan of the trade; Angelina grew up learning from her mother and father their family traditions and recipes of drying and curing meats. Together they perfected what is known today as DeNofa’s Homemade Sausage.
